August news

A
s predicted, we have had a quiet summer.

Now September has arrived let us hope the wind will also come. August saw a steady growth in the numbers of registered members on the kitecrew forum. There has been positive feed back with regards to a major clear out of all non active accounts on the forum. Simply, all non active or non posting accounts were removed. This, in turn will help with security aspects within the forum.

Thanks to Richard Gillen for his continued input on the kitecrew forum. For those who don't know, Richard is Limavady Council representitive for tourism & leisure. As Benone Beach is under the contol of Limavady Council we respect the guidelines for the area and request all kiters do likewise..

Although several kitecrew members were unable to make it to our weekend away at The Curragh near Dublin we had a great weekend. A special thanks goes out to Ben from Dublinkiteclub for his barbeque skills. As usual we were all made to feel very welcome. It was refreshing to see so many kiters who are out to have fun and not getting too serious about it.

Our July news promised new additions and a week or so later we introduced our Blokart Section. There has been a massive interest in the Blokarts from kiters & non kiters alike. The Blokart site will eventualy be moved to it's own domain where we hope it will continue to grow as kitecrew has.

The two Vance boys, Stefen & Luke have returned from a five week trip to Spain where they were kiting every day. Anyone who has seen them in action since their return will have been amazed in the progress both have made one the water as well as land. These young guys have massive potential & everyone at kitecrew wishes them all the best for the future, as they will go far... watch this space ...

Estonia 2008 is well & truly under way. James McEvoy has organised a meeting at Comfort Inn Junction One, Antrim for Tuesday 4th September at 8pm. If there is anyone who is even remotely interested in going to Estonia for our second snowkite trip we would strongly urge then to attend. Last years trip was excellent & we anticapate most people will return this year. Remember, if you are not at the meeting you may miss a space on the trip. Why not attend and then decide? There will be photographs & stories galore at the meeting.

Finally, EHS kite Fesival is Sunday 9th September at Redburn Country Park. Don't miss it.
